Human Diversity
("D" Courses)

Human Diversity is one of five areas grouped together in a category called Personal and Social Responsibility in the General Education requirements at Stetson University. The number of courses from the Personal and Social Responsibility category that you are required to take depends on the college or school that you are enrolled in.

Courses that meet the Human Diversity requirement focus on the dynamics of human difference. You will critically examine how and why categories based on physical, social, or mental attributes arise and how our assumptions about such categories affect our interactions with other humans and our perceptions of the world. They are taught in a range of disciplines. Courses satisfying this category have a "D" tagged to the end of the three-digit course number. Junior Seminars in this area have "D.JS" after the course number. Courses may be found in:

If your major is in the College of Arts & Sciences and it requires a "D" course you may use it to satisfy the Human Diversity requirement. There is the limitation that no more than three courses required for a major in Arts & Sciences may be used to satisfy General Education requirements.
