Environmental Responsibility
("R" Courses)

Environmental Responsibility is one of five areas grouped together in a category called Personal and Social Responsibility in the General Education requirements at Stetson University. The number of courses from the Personal and Social Responsibility category that you are required to take depends on the college or school that you are enrolled in.

Courses that meet the Environmental Responsibility requirement provide a sense of place in the natural environment by helping you think critically about the human relationship to the earth. They are taught in a range of disciplines. Courses satisfying this category have an "R" tagged to the end of the three-digit course number. Junior Seminars in this area have "R.JS" after the course number. Departments offering these courses include:

If your major is in the College of Arts and Sciences and it requires an "R" course you may use it to satisfy the Environmental Responsibility requirement. There is the limitation that no more than three courses required for a major in Arts & Sciences may be used to satisfy General Education requirements.
