Health & Wellness
("W" Courses)

Health & Wellness is one of five areas grouped together in a category called Personal and Social Responsibility in the General Education requirements at Stetson University. The number of courses from the Personal and Social Responsibility category that you are required to take depends on the college or school that you are enrolled in:

College of Arts & Sciences: One course each from two of the five Personal and Social Responsibility areas; one of the two must be a Junior Seminar.

School of Business: One course from a Personal and Social Responsibility area.

School of Music: All Music majors except Voice majors are required to take one course from a single Personal and Social Responsibility area. B.A.-Music majors are required to take a second course that is a Junior Seminar in the Personal and Social Responsibility area.

Courses that meet the Health & Wellness requirement increase your understanding of the relationship between lifestyle and physical and psychological well-being. They are taught in a range of disciplines. Courses satisfying this category have a "W" tagged to the end of the three-digit course number. Junior Seminars in this area have "W.JS" after the course number. Departments offering these courses include:

If your major is in the College of Arts & Sciences and it requires a "W" course you may use it to satisfy the Health & Wellness requirement. There is the limitation that no more than three courses required for a major in Arts & Sciences may be used to satisfy General Education requirements.
