The Alliance for International Reforestation, Inc. or AIR
, is a non-profit organization working to make a difference for the people of Guatemala and Nicaragua. AIR plants trees, establishes tree nurseries, provides environmental education for teachers and farmers, digs wells, builds fuel-efficient brick ovens, and helps to educate everyone about the environmental challenges facing Central America.

We invite you to examine our 2007 Form 990 Tax Return, where you will see that over 97% of funds go directly to AIR projects!

AIR IN THE NEWS

AIR-Guatemala ("AIRES" in Spanish) was recognized in 2008 by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues for empowering Mayan leadership teams through building fuel-efficient stoves Congratulations AIRES!

AIR responded immediately to the Hurricane Stan disaster, providing food, water, clothes, and helping hands to help with the recovery efforts. In November 2005, the President of Guatemala awarded AIR special recognition for its effective humanitarian response. See the Powerpoint presentation.

All paid staff for AIR, Inc. are natives of Guatemala, trained in Agro-Forestry and dedicated to
improving the lives of the rural poor, and to planting trees!

The U.S. Headquarters for AIR, Inc. are based at Stetson University, DeLand, Florida.

Since 1993, AIR has trained over 1,500 Guatemalan farmers,
constructed over 700 fuel-efficient stoves, and planted over 3 million trees!
