Inauguration Events

With Homecoming 2010 coinciding with the inauguration of President Wendy B. Libby, alumni and friends have an unprecedented opportunity to be a part of Stetson history in the making! To celebrate, many Homecoming events have been planned around the inaguration to specifically augment the investiture ceremony and welcome President Libby to the Stetson family.

Friday, March 19
8:00 – 9:30 p.m.
School of Music Inauguration Concert: Lee Chapel, Elizabeth Hall. Featuring performances by the Stetson University Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Hose.

Friday, March 19
9:30 p.m.
Champagne and Dessert Reception: Holler Fountain. Entertainment will be provided by the Stetson University Jazz Ensemble.

Saturday, March 20
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Inauguration of President Wendy B. Libby: Edmunds Center. This is the main event! Be a part of Stetson history as we celebrate the investiture of the university's 9th president.

Saturday, March 20
12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
A Presidential Picnic: President’s Home. Rain Plan: Rinker Field House. Dr. Libby welcomes all alumni to celebrate her inauguration at a complimentary picnic . Entertainment will be provided by the Stetson Men’s Choir.

Saturday, March 20
7:30 – 11:00 p.m.
Mainstreet Block Party - An Inauguration Celebration: West Indiana Avenue. All alumni join current students, faculty, staff and the DeLand community for a street-wide bash. Party highlights include a Classic Car Show (on East Indiana), the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen and trophy presentations to the winners of the Legacy Cup and Football Challenge. Live music will feature the bands Motion City Soundtrack and Frontiers: The Journey Tribute Band.
