Below are links to resources across the breadth of Cultural and Political Ecology.  Some of the resources are historically relevant while others feature the contemporary work of Cultural and Political Ecologists affiliated with CAPE.

Applied Biodiversity Research
A NSF-IGERT Program facilitating the formation of interdisciplinary teams of doctoral students and faculty at Texas A&M University with the aim of producing scientists prepared to understand ecological functions of local ecosystems as well as the activities and needs of surrounding communities in wider social, economic, and political contexts.

 

Cultural and Political Ecology at the AAG Century Mark
A discussion regarding the state of Cultural and Political Ecology at the 100-year anniversary of the Association of American Geographers.

Center for Political Ecology
This is the homepage for the group that established the journal “Capitalism Nature and Socialism.”  There are educational materials, project summaries, and an index of back issues of CNS.

GRAIN
An international non-governmental organization that promotes the sustainable management and use of agricultural biodiversity based on people's control over genetic resources and local knowledge.

IGERT-Applied Biodiversity Science
An NSF initiative through Texas A&M to integrate biodiversity research and conservation practice.

Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy
An organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota focused on international agricultural trade policy.

Journal of Political Ecology
A peer-reviewed journal organized by the Political Ecology Society, hosted by Anthropologists at the University of Arizona.

Natural Hazards Center
The Natural Hazards Center is base at the University of Colorado and its mission “is to advance and communicate knowledge on hazards mitigation and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.”

The Pelican Web
A web resource devoted to solidarity, sustainability, and non-violence.

PLECserv
PLECserv continues PLEC (People, Land Management and Ecosystem Conservation), which was an international United Nations University project on biodiversity management by small farmers.  Each PLECserv provides a summary of a selected recent paper on rural issues in the developing countries, posted about once a month.

Science and Democracy Network
The Science and Democracy Network (SDN) was established in 2002 to enhance the quality and significance of scholarship in science and technology studies (STS) by training young professionals and by forging links between STS and related fields of study and practice.

Southern Yucatán Peninsular Region (SYPR) Project
A multi-institutional project focusing on Land Cover Science.

United Nations Environment Programme
