Sample Activities

Some of the many activities which are part of the program:

  • Learning the Strategy: Attacking the passage or problem by becoming an engaged, critical reader and math thinker.
  • Modeling the Strategy: Recognizing the differences between right and wrong answers.
  • Practicing the Strategy: Showing teachers how to use sample Passages or problems with teachers role playing students.
  • Using the Strategy: Using passages or problems from teacher's own classroom materials to employ the strategy to other workshop participants.
  • Learning the Similarities: Activities that solidify the understanding of the common characteristics between the FCAT Reading and Math Tests ... and playing a game.
  • Learning the Differences: Participating in activities to help teachers learn how teaching reading for school is different from reading for a standardized test. Participating in activities that help teachers show their students numbers of simple techniques that improve math scores.

Let the Wizard's "wiz-dom" work for you and your students.

These programs CAN make a difference!
