What is an Information Session? Why Have One?

An information session is your opportunity to meet the people who develop and deliver Stetson's Lawyer’s Assistant program. You wouldn’t buy a vehicle or a major appliance without seeing the vehicle or the appliance – so the same applies even more so for an education and training program that could change your life.
An information session is more than just getting information. Actually our Website is full of useful information. Our sessions are special in that we take you inside the course. We show you our comprehensive Lawyer’s Assistant textbook and the accompanying student study guide. We let you review the excellent Gregg Reference Manual – an authoritative handbook we use for our course-within-a-course on written communications and something we know you will use while on the job for years to come.
We open our password-protected Stetson BlackboardTM site so you will see what our students see. Track the weekly work flow in terms of study assignments, review questions, and the online weekly quizzes. You’ll see the PowerPoint presentations that help carry the material to you for understanding and application. You’ll see one of the quizzes and learn how it is instantly graded with feedback tied to specific sections within the text.
You'll gain an appreciation of our combination of Internet and in-class learning. See what represents the best in teaching methodology for a model program tailored for working adults to ensure their mastery of the materials.
You’ll learn how our instructors make the subjects real with their vignettes and anecdotal stories. While it is very good to have an understanding of litigation procedures, it is even better to have a feel for how law offices that specialize in litigation really work. Our instructors have the actual experience to bring life to each of the course topics.
You’ll get to appreciate the effort we go to have our students pass the national certification examination (where our pass rate 86%). Trust us, if you do your work, you will be prepared!
You’ll also learn how we assist our students in their job searches using Stetson contacts with alumni and Orlando area law firms. We also provide résumé and interview assistance too!
You’ll get to sit in on a class in session. You’ll be able to ask students in the program how well it is meeting and exceeding their expectations and get their candid feedback. (For when we have a class in session.)
You’ll meet one of our instructors, a practicing attorney with excellent credentials and background. Not a law professor – a real lawyer with superb credentials and a wealth of experience. (Of course, this is also for when we have a class in session.)
And, lastly, you’ll get to see our outstanding facility with all its technology, created to truly support the teaching and learning process.
