Java Programming Training Course

Java is a cross-platform programming language that allows an application to be written and then run on any compatible hardware (Windows, Sun, Linux, etc)

Course Description:
This intensive course provides a solid introduction to the Java programming language and development environment. In this fast-paced, hands-on course, programmers acquire the skills they need to write standalone, client/server, and intranet applications in Java.
Our course includes basic Java technology and object-oriented skills, and focuses on the technologies in the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SETM). Technologies within J2SE include the Java Virtual Machine (JVMTM), Software Development Kit (SDK), and Standard Extension APIs.

In Our Course You Will Study How To

  • Write, compile and execute Java programs using Java 2
  • Build robust applications using Java's object-oriented features
  • Create applications and applets using Java class libraries
  • Read and write data using Java streams

Course Objectives:
This course will be a short high-intensity look into Java and Object-Oriented Programming. Given the current need for fast, flexible web-based programs, Java is an invaluable tool to any company or institution. This course will focus on the fundamentals of programming, understanding programming models, solution development, and the development of fully-functional programs. Those attending will learn not only how to produce the functional logic-based part of the applications, but also how to layout and implement a user-interface. By the end of the course, attendees should be able to look at a given problem, propose a solution, and implement that solution in a logical and aesthetically pleasing way.

Hands-On Training
Throughout this course, hands-on exercises give you extensive experience creating your own Java applications and applets. There will be many exercises performed under the guidance of an expert instructor.

Curriculum.
Following is the curriculum for our four-day short course:

  • An Overview of Java. Unique features of Java. Java myths debunked.
  • Object-Oriented Programming. Classes, inheritance, fields, methods, and interfaces. Packages and protection mechanisms.
  • Basic Java Syntax. Java expressions and control constructs.
  • Applets. Embedding Java programs in Web browsers. Customizing applets. Creating and deploying applets with Java Plug-In
  • AWT Windows and GUI Controls. Building and controlling multi-platform graphical Java applications.
  • Developing an object-oriented model with UML notation
  • Creating Java objects and calling their methods
  • Extending Java classes for reusability
  • Structuring data with the Java 2 collections API
  • Creating portable GUIs with the Java Foundation Classes
  • Reading, processing and writing to disk
  • Creating and deploying applets with Java Plug-In
Day-by-Day Course Outline

Course Benefits:
Organizations looking for ways to quickly build robust, cross-platform applications are increasingly turning to Java programming. Java's unique architecture permits programmers to develop a single application that can run across multiple platforms seamlessly and reliably. More and more, organizations are using Java to develop enterprise solutions. This course provides extensive experience with Java and its object-oriented features. You use Java 2 to create both applications and applets, including intuitive GUIs.

Who Should Attend:
This course is valuable for programmers, engineers, analysts and managers who are interested in developing Java programming. Experience with a programming language is desired but not required. Familiarity with Web technologies and object concepts is helpful.
