Bluemner: Color Sketches

Roberta Favis, professor emerita of Art History and curator of Stetson University’s Vera Bluemner Kouba Collection, has assembled this new exhibition for the Fall 2013 semester. Although these pieces capture common outdoor scenes, Favis explains that they use “particularly vibrant and versatile colored pencils that enabled the artist to combine his interest in the expressive qualities of color with his immediate response to subjects observed from nature.”

Oscar Bluemner: Color Sketches will run from Sept 13th to Dec 2nd at the Hand Art Center. Gallery Hours at Stetson’s Hand Art Center are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on weekends and university holidays. For more information call 386-822-7270.
