We realize each member's primary reason for attending Stetson is to gain an education. The pursuit of knowledge is one of our cores values, which is why we strive for and promote academic excellence. Academics are emphasized from the beginning of membership, as new members must obtain a minimum 2.5 GPA to be initiated (0.25 higher than what is required by the Inter-Fraternity Council). Chapter operated study halls help new members to reach this standard, and brothers are encouraged to attend these sessions as well. Brothers who fail to make grade requirements are placed into our academic assistance program. This program is designed for the individual to take ownership in their improvement, while having the brotherhood as a support system. Academic success is acknowledged through recognition at chapter meetings, prizes, and awards. A brother who obtains a 4.0 GPA for a semester has his name engraved on the Intellect Plaque.

Athletics are a great way to spend time with your friends, be competitive, bond, and have fun. This is why Delta Sig participates in nearly every intramural sport offered by Stetson, sometimes forming several teams. We strive to be competitive by holding practices and having organization in every sport. Most importantly, we give all of our effort when we step on the playing field. This dedication and effort enabled us to have great strides in athletics this past year. However, we also realize the main reason for playing sports is to have fun. This is why every brother has playing opportunities, and you'll often see us joking around with each other in practice and during games. We also have brothers on varsity athletic teams, including crew and cross country.

Delta Sig's goal is to build each member into a better man. We realize that we can not do this without bettering the world around us. Our members have been very fortunate, which is why it is only fair that we assist those in need. We also have a good time doing it. Songs from Michael Jackson and Huey Lewis and the News blast as brothers dance and pick up trash during cleanups of our adopted road. We also do beach cleanups with sororities, walking for miles picking up trash, then dive into the water to cool off after. We clean brush, paint buildings, and build ramps at local parks. All this has resulted in us winning the award for most service hours for fraternities the past three years!
We also raise money for causes like our philanthropy, the American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society, as well as the community through Stetson campus wide events such as GreenFeather and Greek Week. During one of these campus wide events, there was a Thanksgiving food drive for local families. All 50+ brothers lined up with bags in hand at the fraternity house and dropped them off at the collection point, circling back for more bags! This past year, we played in a charity volleyball game, held a late night bag toss tournament and party, hosted Red Cross Awareness Day at a Stetson baseball game, and had the number one fundraiser at Relay for Life. The fundraiser, "Delta Sig Escort Service", had brothers dress in ridiculous costumes, following around, dancing for (and sometimes annoying) attendees.

Delta Sig also realizes that college is a time for having fun, meeting new people, and experiencing new things. This is why we have socials (themed parties) with every sorority at Stetson, as well as some other organizations. These socials allow our members to meet some of the most interesting, and involved women on campus, and hopefully make new friends. Our chapter also created a formal dinner and dance known as "The Sailor's Ball" which has become a tradition adopted by every other chapter in the fraternity. These events allow brothers to treat their dates to an upscale dinner in a classy venue, while tearing it up on the dance floor after, and having a good time with other brothers. We also have a great time participating in lipsynching and dancing competitions like GreekSing and Airwaves. You can check out some of our recent performances on our history page.

Outside all the work we do, time we spend on events and with other people, the best part of being in a fraternity is the time spent just hanging out with your brothers. Our bond as brothers is strong, and we work hard to maintain it. We are a BROTHERHOOD, NOT an organization. Whether it's getting together weekly for shows like "24", gathering at Tony's to share some pies and laughs, being rowdy at our brothers' tennis match, or going out to support a brother's concert or play, we always take time to enjoy and support each other.
