What We Expect

So, now that you know about our chapter, you're probably wondering what traits we look for in a future fraternity brother. We look for:

  • Respect
    • Toward current brothers. We treat all new members with respect, and we expect the same in return.
    • Toward others. We understand being proud of your friends or membership in our fraternity, but putting down others is not the way to show this.
    • Toward women. Using derogatory terms or treating women as less than people is unacceptable. Not only should one avoid these negative actions, but one should pride themselves in always acting in a gentlemanly manner.
    • Toward the chapter and fraternity. Our founders, alumni, and current brothers have made the fraternity and chapter what it is today, and we hope you recognize that.
  • Responsibility
    • In the classroom. Not only to make the required grades, but to develop the habits that set yourself up for longterm academic success.
    • Few to no violations with the university.
    • Attendance of required greekwide freshman events, fulfillment of service hours, and attendance of new member education
  • Personality
    • Do we have fun hanging out with you?
    • Loyalty - Are you there for your friends in their time of need? Do you always portray them in a good manner?
    • Leadership - Can you motivate others to act? Are you willing to do the dirty work yourself (leadership by example)? Can you challenge others to better themselves?
    • Initiative - Participate because you want to better yourself, not because you're pleaded with. If you want something, do you find a way to make it happen?
