A pair of extraordinary alumni entrepreneurs helped establish a foothold in China for the Stetson School of Business Administration in 2009. Since then, Christina Homan ’05 and Stephen Berning ’04 have been instrumental in widening the study abroad program by hosting field studies and offering internships. They even hired a Business School graduate earlier this year.

Christina Homan '05 and Stephen Berning '04 have started successful businesses in China and helped Stetson with field study to the country.
After traveling and teaching in China for more than two years, Homan and Berning established a thriving business in Suzhou, an old city with a population of more than 6 million about 50 miles west of Shanghai. Their business, Wise Dragon Consulting, began nearly three years ago to help Chinese understand American culture and business.
Today, with Berning as general manager and Homan as partner, Wise Dragon Consulting has international trade clients and is involved in marketing, factory quality control inspections and education.
Homan is also director of Wise Dragon Academy, which offers English classes, assistance for students wanting to study in the United States and a successful “Camp America,” an English immersion experience led by Americans.
