After a tremendous Spring semester Stetson’s athletics program picked up the pace as the Summer began. In June our athletics director, Jeff Altier, was awarded as the Under Armour Southeast region Division 1 Athletic Director of the year by the NACDA. This award recognized Altier for his dedication and involvement on the Stetson campus as well as within the community. (Read the complete story here.)

The good news didn’t stop there. At the end of the month Jeff Altier announced Roger Hughes as Stetson’s head Football coach. Coach Hughes has enthusiastically come on board with 27 years of coaching experience. “I am very excited to be named the head football coach at Stetson University. The opportunity to represent an institution with Stetson’s outstanding academic and athletic reputation is a true honor and is congruent with my previous coaching experiences,” said Hughes.
