For the year of 2011-2012, Stetson has adopted the “water sustainability” theme. The Stetson community will conduct field studies, surveys, student and faculty research, public education, volunteer efforts, and host lectures and films in an effort to protect our natural water resources. “We have had many people working independently on water conservation issues for many years, through faculty research, student research, faculty-student service projects and programs to increase water-use efficiency on campus,” remarks Dr. Kirsten Work, associate professor of biology. “Through Stetson GREEN this year, people from all over Stetson have come together to plan water conservation-themed activities that allow students to be a part of something bigger than one class activity.”
Activities have been planned for the month of November in local parks in the DeLand, Gulfport, and St. Petersburg areas. Click here to learn more.
