This Summer, Stetson Alumni Will Phillips ’05 and Brendan Rogers ’06 along with their friends Andrew Ramos and John Mondelli began selling their feature length film “Flashback” at the Festival de Cannes. This annual film festival held in Cannes, France not only features the renowned film competition, but also holds one of the world’s largest film markets.
Last August “Flashback” was completed after six years of hard work. Will, Brendan, Andrew, and John then began a campaign, sending out over a hundred letters vying for the attention of Californian film distributors. After signing with Rogue Arts and partnering with Fairway Film Alliance, “Flashback” was on its way to Cannes, France.
“It was an incredible experience, and the city is gorgeous,” said Will Phillips ’05. “The undeniable highlight was just walking into the Film Market and spotting our ‘Flashback’ poster prominently displayed in Fairway’s booth.….. It was a fantastic start to a process that will hopefully see our movie made available in as many countries as possible around the world. The next big step will be AFM, the American Film Market, located in Santa Monica in October.”
Will, Brendan, Andrew and John have since created a company of their own named “And You Films” that offers video production services locally.
