Homecoming 2012 and other Alumni Events

Get ready for Homecoming 2012!

Homecoming, November 2-4

Homecoming 2012 will mark our first Fall Homecoming in over 50 years! As we prepare for our official football season to begin, this Homecoming is sure to set a precedent for the exciting times ahead! This year, the Office of Alumni Relations is partnering with the Greenfeather team to make a week full of events for everyone to enjoy.

Friday’s events will include the Food and Wine Festival, Greenfeather Airwaves, a Hatter Howl Pep Rally, the comedy stylings of Colin and Brad from “Whose Line is it Anyway” and a grand finale fireworks show! Saturday will start with an Alumni Awards Presentation Ceremony, where we will present the Distinguished Alumni Awards, Outstanding Young Alumni Awards, the Doyle E. Carlton Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. The entire DeLand community is then invited to party with us at the Food Truck Bazaar and Pre-Game Celebration before our first Green and White game at the Athletic Training Center.

Alumni networking events in Virginia

Stetson alumni are social (networking) butterflies! This summer Hatters in the DC area represented Stetson at All-Florida Alumni Networking Events held in July and August. At these events, alumni from colleges and universities across the state of Florida gathered to network, socialize, and represent their alma mater!

Concert in San Diego

Hatters grill out at a tailgate party in Miami.

On Sunday, September 9, Hatters enjoyed an evening of fine music in San Diego. Stetson professor and mezzo soprano Jane Christeson accompanied Robert MacCleod as he played the organ in concert. They performed the works of Bach, Brahms, St. Saens, Ropek, Mendelssohn, and others!

Football Tailgate Tours

Head Football Coach Roger Hughes is on the move again! After a successful Tailgate Tour with Alumni last Fall, he couldn’t wait to get on the road and meet more Hatters! His stops this year included Northwestern University for the  Northwestern vs Vanderbilt game and Stanford for the USC vs Stanford game.
