Office of Career Development and Academic Advising Resources: College Central Network and Going Global

By Alicia Welch

Are you interested in enhancing your career options? Do you want to maximize your networking experiences and receive an abundance of tips and information on how to improve your job search skills? Or perhaps you are an employer seeking an employee that will exceed your expectations and represent your company well? If you fit any of these scenarios, Stetson University’s Office of Career Development and Academic Advising  has two dynamic online resources that will help you: College Central Network and Going Global.

College Central Network (CCN) is an on-line résumé and job posting program. CCN is free of charge and available to all Stetson alumni. The program offers many features including a résumé builder that allows alumni to upload a copy of their  résumé for review by a Career Development staff member. College Central Network is also a great resource for alumni to access employment opportunities posted exclusively for the Stetson community, as well as to national job boards. Please visit http://www.collegecentral.com/stetson/ to register and take advantage of this amazing program.

Through a partnership between the Office of Career Development and Academic Advising and  the WORLD: International Learning office,  Going Global is also available to Stetson alumni.  Going Global includes “career and employment information with more than 10,000 pages of constantly-updated content on topics such as: job search sources, work permit/visa regulations, résumé writing guidelines and examples, employment trends, salary ranges, networking groups, cultural/interviewing advice and much more”. It also allows users to explore career and employment opportunities in the largest cities across North America with resources that include: business and networking groups, job search resources, and cost of living data. H-1B employer listings are included in each “City Guide” and state-by-state rosters. Additionally, Going Global provides internship listings that are updated daily detailing the availability of opportunities around the world.
