About Us
Sigma Nu is one of America's oldest and largest fraternities, and the first Greek organization established at Stetson. Chartered in 1913, the "Legion of Honor" has an uninterrupted history of nearly 100 years of service, brotherhood, and leadership at Stetson. With 1314 brothers thus far inducted into our chapter, our fraternity is a highly respected institution on campus and throughout the international Greek community.
Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded in 1869, at Virginia Military Institute, as a response to the institutionalized hazing that was practiced by that school's other Greek organizations. At Delta Mu chapter, we respect and honor the bravery of our founders by refusing to demean ourselves, our candidates, and those with whom we associate through childish practices such as hazing. We take great pride that Sigma Nu remains the only national fraternity founded on principles of honor, and we strongly believe that hazing has no place amongst Men of Honor.
