BORROWING ITEMS

  • A valid Stetson University ID is your Library Card.
  • Bring your ID and the materials you wish to borrow to the Circulation Desk, near the main entrance.
  • There is no limit on the number of items that may be borrowed.
  • Complete a Proxy borrowing form to designate a Stetson staff member, student assistant, or family member to borrow items on your account or pick up items on hold for you.

Returning Items
During library hours, materials may be returned to the Circulation Desk. A 24/7 book drop is located outside, near the Library entrance for your convenience.

RENEWING ITEMS

FINES AND FEES

  • The Library does not charge overdue fines.
  • The Library bills for items that are not returned. Pay your library bill here.

Information about Library bills

  • When the Library sends an overdue notice and an item is not returned, the student is billed for the replacement cost of the item.
  • When a student returns an item, the bill is cancelled.
  • If an item is returned after a bill has been paid, a refund will be issued if the item is returned within one year of the date of the bill.
  • A hold is placed on accounts of students with unpaid bills, which results in students being unable to get a copy of transcripts. The hold is removed when items are returned or bills are paid.

Please note: The library will charge a fee for damaged material, including dog-eared pages, pencil marks, pen marks, highlighted passages, water damage, etc. The charge will depend on the extent of the damage, but will not exceed the value of a replacement copy of the book.

BORROW EQUIPMENT

  • Get a list of equipment, with photos, available for check-out to all current Stetson students, faculty, and staff.
  • Please note: These items have a very short borrowing period — usually 2 hours, 4 hours, or 24 hours.
  • Students who wish to borrow equipment must complete a Lending Equipment Agreement Form and agree to return items in a timely fashion.
  • Overdue items will not be renewed.
  • Failing to return equipment will result in replacement fee charges, transcript holds, and may result in the loss of equipment borrowing privileges.
  • More information about laptops,  tablets, camcorders, and more.
  • Learn about borrowing specialized technology equipment such as 3D camera and virtual reality kit, Oculus Rift.

Please note: Digital Arts equipment is circulated by the library and is the property of the Digital Arts department. The equipment supports the Digital Arts curriculum and is used by students enrolled in Digital Arts courses to complete course assignments. Students not enrolled in Digital Arts courses may not check out Digital Arts equipment unless they have special permission from the department.
