    Description: 1956 to present. The American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies (ABSEES) has been compiled continuously since 1956 under the auspices of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies AAASS). The bibliography is currently based at the University Library of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. ABSEES covers North American scholarship on Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet Union. It contains bibliographic records for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications. If the bibliographical citation is to a journal to which the library subscribes through EbscoHost, the full text of the article is linked and available from the ABSEES citation.

Each report seeks a balance between generality and breadth, on one hand, and detail and depth on the other. Local customs, are included, along with national flags, national anthems, basic economic and social data, politics and history, etc. World Kids Edition contains some of the same information as the World Edition, but the format and content is oriented toward the K-8 grade levels. This will be especially useful for those in the Teacher Education Department in creating social studies lesson plans. The National Curriculum Standards for history, social studies, and English language arts are included. States Edition is also designed for grades K-8, with information on politics, history, geography, economics, etc., of the fifty states and Washington, D.C.

    Description: The Literature Resource Center on GaleNet is a literature reference database designed for both the undergraduate and graduate student, including biographical, bibliographical, and critical content. The LRC is built on the Gale Group three author databases: Contemporary Authors Online, offering biographical coverage of more than 100,000 writers; Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, featuring entries on all authors appearing in CLC since vol. 95 of the print series and complete profiles of 266 most studied authors from editions prior to vol. 95; and Dictionary of Literary Biography Online, containing more than 10,000 biocritical essays on authors and their works written by academic scholars. The Literature Resource Center also includes selected full-text, excerpted, and commissioned critical material from the Gale Literature Criticism and For Students Series. In addition, users can access current, full-text critical essays on major authors via the Literature Resource Center's link to 74 recent literary journals. Other features in the Literature Resource Center include 4000 explications and overviews of prominent literary works; links to 5000 websites focusing on major authors and their works; 1500 author portraits; a guide to writing a Modern Language Association-style research paper.

The MLA International Bibliography, produced by the Modern Language Association, consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, film, and folklore and includes coverage from 1926 to the present. This database provides access to scholarly research in more than 4,000 journals and series. It also covers relevant monographs, working papers, proceedings, bibliographies, and other formats. The default search for MLA International Bibliography includes a simultaneous search of the MLA Directory of Periodicals , also produced by the Modern Language Association of America, which lists periodicals in the areas of literature, language, linguistics, and folklore that are covered regularly in the MLA International Bibliography.

It provides complete bibliographic information, with indexing on subjects, companies, people, products, and geographic areas.
