Description: Published for the Folger Shakespeare Library by Johns Hopkins University. The World Shakespeare Bibliography Online both cumulates and significantly expands the annual bibliographies in Shakespeare Quarterly, although it omits some peripheral items. It is updated at regular intervals. Over the course of a year, coverage will move forward at least one year and backwards at least three years. The World Shakespeare Bibliography Online provides annotated entries for all important books, articles, book reviews, dissertations, theatrical productions, reviews of productions, audiovisual materials, electronic media, and other scholarly and popular materials related to Shakespeare and published or produced between 1964 and 2005. The scope is international, with coverage extending to more than 118 languages and representing every country in North America, South America, and Europe, and nearly every country in Asia, Africa, and Australasia. The more than 103,331 records in this version cite several thousand additional reviews of books, productions, films, and audio recordings. You may create bibliographies and lists. To see if the library has a journal cited, check the List of Library Journals or for our book holdings, check WebCat. (Both links can be found at the top of the library home page.
