Database Description
The subscription is limited to 3 simultaneous users. CML includes thousands of licensed recordings that you can listen to over the Internet. You can browse, search, click, and then listen to the music through headphones. Many pieces are offered in multiple versions. You may search by artist, composer, instrument, genre and sub-genre, period, work or opus number, soloist, ensemble, key, and more. Boolean searching is available through the advanced search to combine genre and artist, etc. It is also possible to browse lists of composers\' and artists\' works. You can create playlists for yourself, and faculty members can create playlists for courses. Alexander Press assigns permanent URLs that can be sent to students by email or posted to Blackboard. Brief biographies of many composers and other reference information are included. If accessing the database from off-campus, please note that Alexander Street Press recommends that each computer accessing the service have at least a 56kbps connection to the internet (a dial-up account usually has a 21 - 33 kbps connection). |
