Database Description

 Congressional Documents (1789-date)
by LexisNexis

Congressional Documents are part of the U.S. Serial Set which is an on-going collection of U.S. Government publications compiled under directive of the Congress. It contains comprehensive and often detailed information on an extremely wide range of subjects.

There has rarely been a published series of its depth and breadth of coverage, and none in this country as long-lived. Its earliest documents date from 1789 and additions are made continuously.

The U.S. Serial Set Digital Collection (1789-1969) includes indexing, bibliographic information, and searchable PDFs for all Serial Set publications from 1789-1969.

This retrospective collection was purchased with special funding from alumna Betty Drees Johnson (1959, 1962) in memory of Dr. Evans C. Johnson, long-time history professor at Stetson University.

This set includes many maps which may be searched separately. For detailed information on using these documents, limiting searches, creating durable URLs for PDF documents, etc. use the HELP tab on the search page.
