Instructional Services Mission Statement Classes on library materials, evaluation of materials, research methods, and instruction in the use of electronic databases are taught at the request of individual instructors. Contact Jane Bradford to schedule instruction classes. Also available to any student is the Research Assistance Program (RAP). RAP allows the student to meet individually with a reference librarian for one-to-one help in locating materials relevant to a specific research topic. Call or email Jane Bradford or Barbara Costello to schedule a RAP session. The library has put together lists of sources relating to specific disciplines (for example, Education, English, Sociology). These can be found on the library's My Subject pages (available from the library's home page). A general guide to the research process, including tips specific to Stetson resources, can be found at http://www2.stetson.edu/library/researchguide.pdf. The Coordinator of Library Instruction, in consultation with the Library Instruction Team and the Department of English faculty, has developed an Information Literacy Plan for Stetson University. |
