Disney World Press Kit
On April 30, 1969, officials from the Walt Disney Company held a press
conference in Orlando,
Florida announcing the plans for a Destination Vacation Resort on the
Company's 27,000 acre
site 16 miles southwest of the city. Officials detailed the more than
three years of planning
and preparation that led to the announcement of what would become the
Walt Disney World Resort.
