Anta de Pavia, Entrance, Chapel Dolmen, Alentejo, Portugal
This dolmen has been made into a Catholic chapel and is located in the village of Pavia, 31 kilometers west of Evora. The dolmen was turned into a chapel in 1625 and represents a rare instance of a Neolithic monument being re-purposed as a Christian sacred site. The chapel entrance is visible in this photo, taken June 8, 2003, around 7 p.m.
