Offering at Base of Standing Stone at Merrivale, Dartmoor

Merrivale megalithic complex is best known for its pair of doubled stone rows that run across the landscape. There is also a small stone circle and a menhir nearby. On the day I visited the site, two contemporary Pagans were making offerings at the base of this stone. The offerings were a piece of wool, a black Raven's feather, and a stick of incense. Ravens symbolize communication across the worlds, and are fitting symbols for offering a prayer or intention at a sacred site.
