Eta Pi Chapter History

The Eta Pi Chapter had its earliest beginnings in 1989, when a group of young ladies formed the Stetson University Womens' Music Club to prepare to petition Sigma Alpha Iota for admission as a chapter. Dr. Jean West, an alumna of Gamma Iota chapter at James Madison University, and Mrs. Eva Lurtz, an alumna of the Alpha Nu chapter at Youngstown University, were the primary forces in the preparation for installation.

On April 28, 1990, the Eta Pi chapter was formally installed with the national vice-president, Dr. Brenda Ray, assisting.
