(Fall
2012) Dr. York and the rest of the chemistry department are enjoying
our new 400
MHz JEOL ECS NMR spectrometer. This instrument (purchased with funds
from the NSF-TUES program) is now being used throughout our
undergraduate chemistry curriculum in classes from General Chemistry to
advanced Spectra and Structure. All students taking classes in
chemistry and biochemistry will get hands-on use of this spectrometer
in their classes and labs!
This
new instrument complements our
research laboratories that were recently updated using funds from our
NSF-ARI grant ($610,000). These include our synthetic spaces:
and our computational chemistry facilities equipped with a complete array of computational programs:
These upgrades make Sage
Hall a great place to do chemistry!!! If you're interested in working
with Dr. York, let him know. He's always looking for great students to
help with his research in inorganic chemistry and chemical education.
If you are interested in learning more about
research in Inorganic Chemistry, stop by and see me in 247 Sage Hall, or contact me at
