Here on my home page you will discover a little about me and what I do at Stetson. First off, the devilish-looking fellow above is a Common Yellowthroat, a warbler that breeds throughout most of North America and winters in the south. He is here this year honoring my good birding friend Pearl, who passed away recently. She called him the Little Bandit. Click the picture to hear his distinctive "witchety" call. My title is "professor." That means that among the faculty at Stetson I hold the top rank, having been promoted from assistant professor, to associate professor, to full professor. My duties include teaching, research, and university service, the most important being teaching. Fortunately, teaching is what I most like to do. I think that the verb "to teach" is often misunderstood. If you're interested, I have a bit to say about teaching and learning.
