GALLIFORMES - Neither species is common on the public use areas of the refuge.

Northern Bobwhite are more typical of mixed upland habitat than the wetland habitats that make up the majority of the public use area, but they are such wide-ranging birds that they almost certainly occur in the upland woodlands and the adjoining open habitats on the east boundary of the refuge.
Wild Turkeys are also unusual in the public use areas of the refuge, but occur in the wooded habitats on occasion.
