RUSSIAN LEADERSHIP DOOMED TO FAILURE BECAUSE GOD IS NOT WITH THEM—PATRIARCH FILARET
Patriarch of Kiev and all-Rus-Ukraine Filaret calls believers to intensify prayers for Ukraine. The patriarch blessed Ukrainian churches during next Sunday's liturgies in churches to read a special prayer supporting Ukrainian troops in the east, 5 Kanal reports.
In commenting to journalists, the patriarch severely condemned the actions of Russia as the aggressor. In particular, he called statements about the absence of Russian weapons and troops of the Russian federation in the Donbass deception of the whole world.
Patriarch Filaret quoted lines from the Ukrainian national anthem and added that Ukraine needs peace only in freedom.
"The enemy has still not given up and therefore we need to turn to God, because everything depends on God. It is not just that Russia committed aggression; it also tells the whole world a lie.
