Kiev patriarchate receives parishes from other Orthodox churches

IN TERNOPOL REGION THREE PARISHES WHICH HAD BELONGED TO UKRAINIAN AUTOCEPHALOUS ORTHODOX CHURCH TRANSFER TO KIEV PATRIARCHATE

Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev patriarchate, 12 April 2015

The call of His Holiness Patriarch Filaret and the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev patriarchate regarding the need to strengthen a United Local Church was heard again in the Ternopol region. Here the unification of Orthodox parishes of other jurisdictions within the bosom of the Kiev patriarchate is continuing.

Thus, in the aftermath of the transfer of several parishes from the Moscow patriarchate, another three parishes that previously belonged to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church expressed the desire to transfer under the episcopal omophorion of His Excellency Nestor, archbishop of Ternopol, Kremenets, and Buchach.

The ruling bishop of the Ternopol diocese granted the request of the parish of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God of the village of Yatryshniki of the deanery of Zalishchiki (rector Archimandrite Vsevolod), the parish of the Archangel Michael of the village of Buglov, Lanovtsi deanery, and the parish of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God of the village of Kutiska, Lanovtsi deanery (rector Archpriest Roman Stadnik), and he blessed them for continuing their ministry in the bosom of the UPTs of the Kiev patriarchate in the future.

The current feast of Pascha has become special again because the fruit of the Great Fast for Ternopol diocese is the manifestation of the fraternal love commanded by Christ. How good and how pleasant it is when brethren live in harmony (Ps. 132.1). (tr. by PDS, posted 14 April 2015)

PARISHES OF VICAR DEANERY OF PRIMATE OF UAPTs BECOME MEMBERS OF LVOV DIOCESE

Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev patriarchate, 11 April 2015

His Excellency Metropolitan of Lvov and Sokal Dimitry satisfied the petition of the rectors of the parishes of the Holy Trinity (Lvov), Transfiguration (village of Sukhovolia, Gorodok district), St. Michael (village of Romanov, Krasnograd district), the Nativity of the Mother of God (village of Solonka, Pustomytov district), and St. Michael (village of Koviri, Pustomytov district), which previously (during the life of Metropolitan Mefody) formed the vicar deanery of the primate of UAPTs, regarding the admission of these parishes into membership of the Lvov diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev patriarchate.

In the requests they presented, the clergy indicated that they were motivated in their decision by a desire to participate in the creation in Ukraine of a United Local Orthodox Church.

We note that each religious community adopted their decision on their own, independent from the other parishes of the deanery, and by means of observing all requirements of existing legislation of Ukraine, that is, in parish meetings with the adoption of the pertinent decision by a simple majority of votes.
