LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL IN
BIROBIDZHAN DISCOVER CASE OF ILLEGAL DISTRIBUTION OF RELIGIOUS
LITERATURE
In order to prevent the
distribution on the territory of the city of Birobidzhan of
printed publications included in the federal list of extremist
materials, personnel of the Directorate of the Ministry of
Internal Affairs (UMVD) of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous
Province, along with personnel of the UFSB of Russia for the
Jewish Autonomous Province and the MOMVD of Russia
"Birobidzhansky," organized an inspection of the activity of one
of the religious organizations in the city of Birobidzhan.
During the inspection a case of
the possession of printed material included in the federal list
of extremist materials, for the purpose of subsequent
distribution, was revealed and documented. On the basis of this
case, an administrative report on article 20.29 of the Code of
the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations of Law
[KRFAP] was drawn up and the literature was taken out of civil
circulation.
Previously, an administrative report on article 20.2 of the KRFAP was drawn up with regard to the leader of this religious organization, for violation of the established procedure for conducting a meeting, rally, demonstration, march or picketing and a warning about the impermissibility of distributing extremist literature was issued as well.
