COURT IN RIAZAN FINES TWO MEMBERS OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
Two members of the religious group of Jehovah's Witnesses in Riazan were fined on the basis of part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law, organizing or conducting a public event without submitting notification in established form. An order was issued by the Soviet Court of Riazan on Friday, 10 July, the court's website reports.
"The court established that on 23 June at a public transportation stop in Riazan, S. and B. conducted picketing, without submitting notification of the conduct of a public event in the established form," the court's report says.
The court found them guilty of the violation of law provided by part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the RF, and it ordered a punishment in the form of an administrative fine of 20,000 rubles for each.
The order may be appealed in the Riazan provincial court within ten days of the delivery or receipt of a copy of the order. (tr. by PDS, posted 18 July 2015)
