REPRESENTATIVES OF UPTsMP PROTEST AGAINST POPE'S VISIT TO UKRAINE
Around 100 representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow patriarchate) conducted a protest demonstration in Kiev against the visit to the country by the Roman pope. Yesterday the pontiff received an invitation from President Petro Poroshenko, but Orthodox fundamentalists are convinced that the pope's visit should be cleared with representatives of their church, the Fourth Power reports.
"Catholics are again planning a crusade against Rus. On 20 November Petro Poroshenko met with the pope and arranged a visit to Ukraine. But Ukraine is Orthodox. And the pope may come to Kiev only upon an invitation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufrey. Catholic messianism in Ukraine is nothing other than religious aggression," one of the organizers of the procession of the cross, Alexander Luzan, declared. (tr. by PDS, posted 10 December 2015)
