DISTRIBUTOR OF EXTREMIST LITERATURE FINED IN STAVROPOL

An adherent of the religious association of Jehovah's Witnesses got off with an administrative fine.
Suspicious literature was discovered in the home of one of the residents of the territorial center. According to information of the Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, personnel of law enforcement agencies seized about 10,000 extremist brochures. The owner of the house is a member of the infamous sect of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Police confiscated the whole stash but the adherent of the religious community got away with only a small fine of 2,000 rubles. At the present time, the territorial prosecutor's office reports that the corresponding decision has already been issued. (tr. by PDS, posted 16 December 2015)

The prosecutor's office of the district received from the Center for Combating Extremism of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Stavropol territory materials from a search operation "Investigation of premises, buildings, structures, lands, and means of transport."
In the course of conducting an investigation it was established that personnel of the Center for Combating Extremist of GU MVD for Stavropol territory, on the basis of a decision of a judge of the Stavropol territorial court, conducted a search operation in the residence of citizen "S" during which a large quantity of religious literature, which according to information of the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian federation is included in the federal list of extremist materials, was discovered and confiscated.
Thereby it was established that "S" possessed extremist materials that are included in the federal list of extremist materials, for the purpose of mass distribution.
In connection with this, a deputy prosecutor of the October district of the city of Stavropol issued an order for opening a case against "S" for administrative violation of law, provided by article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the RF, which was sent for consideration on the merits to the October district court of the city of Stavropol. On the basis of the results of the consideration of the order of the deputy prosecutor of the district, the aforesaid person was held administratively responsible in the form of a fine.
