Serov Jehovah's Witnesses sue justice ministry

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES PETITION THROUGH COURT TO EXCLUDE FROM STATE REGISTER ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF "SEROV" ORGANIZATION

Kommersant.ru, 6 October 2016

Today the Sverdlovsk provincial court is considering an appeal on the basis of a lawsuit of the religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses "Serov" against the administration of the Ministry of Justice of RF for Sverdlovsk province. As Mediasud.ru reports, the religious organization is challenging the refusal of the regional Ministry of Justice to eliminate one of its members from the list of founders. In the opinion of the ministry, elimination from the Uniform State Register of Founders of Religious Organizations is not provided by law. Members of the religious congregation are trying to prove that the existence of members who have been removed by the congregation itself within the composition of the organization could lead to a situation where Jehovah's Witnesses will continue to bear responsibility for them. In June the Kirov district court of Ekaterinburg took the side of the Ministry of Justice and left information about the removed founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organization in the state register.
