ECUMENICAL PATRIARCH BARTHOLOMEW ARRIVES IN UKRAINE
On the eve of Independence Day, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in Ukraine. His Holiness came at the invitation of President Vladimir Zelensky, in order to participate in the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the independence of Ukraine.
This was reported on the Telegram account of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, who, along with Metropolitan Epifany, met the ecumenical patriarch. The premier called Bartholomew's visit symbolic and important for our state.
The meeting with Bartholomew and prayer in honor of his arrival will be held on Saturday, 21 August, at 10:00 in the St. Michael's cathedral.
And on Sunday, 22 August, Patriarch Bartholomew, along with Metropolitan Epifany, will lead the liturgy at Holy Wisdom cathedral. The action will occur under the open sky on the territory of the cathedral. (tr. by PDS, posted 20 August 2021)
