ZELENSKY IS COUNTING ON MEDIATION ROLE OF VATICAN IN CESSATION OF WAR
President Vladimir Zelensky declared that he is counting on a mediation role of the Holy See in ending the war against Ukraine by the Russian Federation. This is reported by Evropeiskaya Pravda.
"I talked with the pontiff. I described for His Holiness the difficult humanitarian situation and the blockade by Russian forces of rescue corridors. A mediation role of the Holy See for ending the human sufferings would be welcomed. I thanked him for prayers for Ukraine and for peace," Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
As RISU has reported, today there was a telephone conversation between Pope Francis and Vladimir Zelensky.
The pope gave assurances that he is praying and doing everything possible for an end to the war. Vladimir Zelensky said that the pontiff is the most awaited guest in Ukraine. (tr. by PDS, posted 22 March 2022)
