I thought I would start off this post with context on the internship\u00a0I am\u00a0fulfilling\u00a0considering that this is in fact, my second rodeo.\u00a0In Spring of\u00a02026,\u00a0I was employed at IWER as a Video Editing Intern.\u00a0Throughout the months,\u00a0I completed 2 videos for them; a documentation on the Aquatic Center Mural and a\u00a0Senior\u00a0Student\u00a0Spotlight. My boss, Megan Brinton, had\u00a0expressed that\u00a0she would like me on board to help her with\u00a0conceptualizing and executing more video ideas throughout the rest of my Stetson journey\u00a0due to a professional\u00a0synergy\u00a0we share.\u00a0This summer position blossomed because of said expression.\u00a0\u00a0

We treated this first week of the course as an orientation. On 5\/21\u00a0we got together over our usual Teams meeting to setup a loose goal sheet for what\u00a0IWER was hoping\u00a0I could\u00a0accomplish\u00a0this summer. I had already been briefed\u00a0in my previous semester\u00a0on\u00a0what the video ideas were but due to their scale and importance, we thought it would be best to make sure this process was documented\u00a0in an organized\u00a0manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are 2 projects that I am being tasked with covering. I\u00a0actually haven\u2019t\u00a0discussed how much I am allowed to share\u00a0about one of them\u00a0due to their sensitive nature, but I will get further confirmation that I am allowed to talk about details in future posts as I think the project\u00a0is\u00a0extremely impressive and exciting.\u00a0To keep it vague, there is construction for\u00a0development\u00a0on Stetson property that I am crafting a video for. It\u00a0previously had a video made but IWER deemed it unfit which is where I step in. Over the next few weeks,\u00a0I am tasked with gathering\u00a0new footage\u00a0and working with the IWER team to ensure that their\u00a0concept is being executed correctly this time around. The\u00a0due date\u00a0for the final video\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0until mid-Fall,\u00a0but we plan to\u00a0use\u00a0every week\u00a0ambitiously\u00a0to ensure\u00a0a\u00a0perfect\u00a0feature.\u00a0\u00a0

The second project is smaller in scale but just as important. At Stetson, we have gorgeous campus buildings\u00a0designed with\u00a0highly\u00a0reflective windows. While they are\u00a0beautiful\u00a0in aesthetics,\u00a0they are a danger to the\u00a0avian\u00a0life\u00a0as birds have a harder time distinguishing between what can and\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0be flown through. Window decals are a preventive measure that can help birds make that determination. These decals have already been implemented at the Aquatic Center and have\u00a0been\u00a0proven highly effective. The video I am tasked with making is to help advertise the\u00a0decals’\u00a0importance and effectiveness\u00a0both to share awareness on the issue but also to promote Stetson as a fitting candidate for the grants needed to fund more decal implementation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am elated to be working on such large-scale projects and am\u00a0eternally\u00a0grateful\u00a0for the\u00a0opportunity. Not only do I think the professional experience will\u00a0help\u00a0propel me into a\u00a0career,\u00a0but I am extremely passionate about the projects\u00a0that I have been handed\u00a0which only add an entire other layer of\u00a0gratitude.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
