{"id":371,"date":"2015-06-24T10:00:32","date_gmt":"2015-06-24T14:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/creative-arts-internships\/?p=371"},"modified":"2015-06-24T10:00:57","modified_gmt":"2015-06-24T14:00:57","slug":"museum-internship-journal-entry-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/creative-arts-internships\/museum-internship-journal-entry-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Museum Internship Journal Entry #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>May 29<sup>th<\/sup> || \u00a0Larry Cahall\u2014a semi-abstract artist from Philadelphia\u2014donated over 100 paintings he made to Stetson University between 2001-2006. One third of his paintings are displayed currently on campus. However, this collection was never inputted into the Past Perfect database so, Tonya has assigned me to add an accession number onto each piece. An accession number is like a recording number for the museum records. The first set of numbers is usually the year \u00a0the artist or donor gave us the piece; however, if there are no records to when the piece was donated to the museum,\u00a0 then we would put the current year.\u00a0The next set is just categorizing the piece into section such as XXXX<strong><em>.01.<\/em><\/strong>XXX means it is \u201cpart 1\u201d of the collection. Finally, the last three numbers is numbering each individual\u00a0piece in order\u00a0from <strong><em>001-999. <\/em><\/strong>After adding their accession numbers for most of the collection, I had to arrange and make sure each piece was stored in a proper location.
