Stetson University’s Second Stage Theatre’s Production of

Machinal

Inspired by the real life case of Ruth Snyder, a woman convicted of murder and executed by electric chair in 1927, this expressionist play highlights a young woman’s attempt to find her own happiness and break away from the machine like routine of daily life.

Audition Information:

When: January 16 and 17 th from 4:30 – 6:30 pm and 7:30 – 9:30 pm
Where: Second Stage Theatre (located in the Museum of Art – 600 N.Woodland Blvd.)

Auditions are open to all students and community members, and you only need to attend one audition slot to be considered for a part. You also do not need to have anything prepared in advance as auditions are comprised mostly of cold readings and scripts will be provided. If you would like to become more familiar with the play and its characters, scripts are available for check-out in the Creative Arts Office (216 Sampson Hall).

NOTE: Mid-Spring Auditions for the Student-Directed One Acts will take place at a later date TBA, most likely in late February after Machinal closes and before Spring Break.
