The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufmann
In October 1998, Matthew Shepard, a student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a prairie fence. Matthew was the target of this brutal assault because he was gay, and he died days later as a result of his injuries. Moises Kaufmann and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of Laramie, Wyoming. Based on those interviews, The Laramie Project is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

Mrs. California by Doris Baizley
The time is pre-women’s lib 1955. The place: a Los Angeles hotel, where a homemakers contest is in progress. The contestants are expected to demonstrate the skills of the ideal housewife in an attempt to be crowned as Mrs. California. This play illustrates what can happen when one woman decides to stop doing what she is supposed to do, and starts doing what she was meant to do.

The Game’s Afoot by Ken Ludwig
It is December 1936, and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turns dangerous.

Auditions are open to all students, and you only need to attend one audition slot to be considered for a part. For the auditions, you don’t need to have anything prepared in advance as auditions are comprised mostly of cold readings and scripts will be provided.
