Luz Nagle, As a Trustee, reviewed and made recommendations on the Sudan Fact-Finding Mission Interim Report. The purpose of the project was to increase the protection of the rights of lawyers in Sudan through (1) conducting a fact-finding mission to gather information on rule of law concerns, particularly reported cases of arrest of lawyers, and to assess the ability of lawyers to exercise freely the right to freedom of expression, beliefs, association, and assembly, as well as (2) writing a fact-finding mission report with recommendations for ensuring the independence of the legal profession and respect for the rule of law in Sudan, IBA Human Rights Institute Trust, February 2020

Luz Nagle, As a Trustee, reviewed the IBAHRI’s Turkey Trial observation – Indictments of Members of International Human Rights Organizations Final Report. . In collaboration with the International Commission of Jurists, IBAHRI conducted a trial observation in Turkey related to the sixteen individuals accused by prosecutors of leading protests against the Government of Turkey over the redevelopment of Gezi Park in Istanbul in 2013.
