SUMMARY:2025 Career Fair
DESCRIPTION:We have over 50 employers registered to attend with representative participation from big law\, small firms\, boutique practices\, government agencies and public interest/legal aid organizations. These employers are looking for post-graduate attorneys\, summer associates\, school year clerks\, and a chance to get to know you! \nHere are some essential items to know: \nStetson Law Career Fair\nMarch 25\, 2025\n11:00am – 2:00pm\nGreat Hall and Mann Lounge \nRegistration \nIf you have not yet registered\, there is still time! The fair is open to ALL Stetson students: 1L\, 2L\, 3L and part-timers\, whether you have a job and/or are looking. Register Here \nParking \nWe have more than fifty employers registered to participate on Tuesday\, March 25\, between 11 and 2 p.m.  Parking on campus that day may be challenging at times\, so plan accordingly; share rides\, Uber\, take advantage of a friend’s driveway hospitality\, or walk to campus if any of those options are available to you. \nDress \nWe recommend professional/business dress for the Fair. If you are more comfortable in business casual\, dress accordingly rather than stay away.  Even if you are not seeking employment right now\, this is a great chance to network\, locate a mentor\, meet new friends\, ask your questions\, explore possibilities\, and broadly experience the community of local lawyers and employers you want to be a part of.  They are here to meet you. \nResumes \nIf you haven’t updated your resume and your LinkedIn profile\, now’s a good time to do that!  We recommend you print and bring copies of your current resume with you\, though it is not required.  Review the templates and standards for resumes located in the document library on Symplicity\, and we’d be happy to review your resume in time for use at the Career Fair\, if you email it to career@law.stetson.edu or to a member of the Career Development Team by Friday\, March 21. \nFind a list of Employers participating in the Career Fair HERE \nWe look forward to seeing you at the Career Fair!

SUMMARY:ANNUAL WM. REECE SMITH\, JR. BANQUET and the DISTINGUISHED LECTURE featuring Janice Wesley Kelsey
DESCRIPTION:Janice Kelsey grew up in Birmingham\, Alabama at the height of segregation\, attending an all-black school and church. Kelsey grew to understand the inequities between her school and the nearby white schools and decided to march in the Children’s Crusade in 1963. She went on to get a Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees in Counseling from the University of Alabama. After years as a teacher\, counselor and principal\, she retired from the Birmingham Board of Education. She is now an independent educational consultant\, working with the African American Studies program at UAB\, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute\, and United Way of Central Alabama. \nIn 1963\, 16-year-old Janice Wesley made a decision that had a profound effect on her future. She decided to risk it all and go to jail by becoming a foot soldier in the Birmingham\, Alabama Children’s Crusade to protest the racial segregation that prevailed in her city and throughout the South. She tells the story of her arrest in I Woke Up with My Mind on Freedom and goes on to describe her role in the new South as an educator and administrator.
