SUMMARY:Student Leadership October Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join SLDC for our October luncheon! Rebecca Bloomquist\, Associate Attorney at Banker Lopez Gassler\, PA\, will be speaking this month. Ms. Bloomquist\, a Stetson Law alum\, was heavily involved in pro-bono work\, the Student Bar Association\, and worked in-house with Coca-Cola during her time in law school. Lunch from Raising Canes will be provided\, along with a vegetarian/vegan option for those who do not eat meat! \nPlease RSVP so there is enough food for everyone. If you have questions\, please reach out to Annabella Tubbs\, Chair of Student Leadership Development Committee. \n1 Leadership Credit will be awarded to all students who sign in and stay for the majority of the luncheon. \nThe Leadership Development Program will offer opportunities for students to take part in a variety of Leadership Development Sessions. Students participating in the Leadership Development Program have the opportunity to receive a certificate of recognition at graduation. Successful completion of the program requires a total of 15 leadership credits plus a capstone essay before graduation.\n*LLM Students are required to complete 8 Credits plus the essay. \nPlease RSVP on Engage\nFood served at student organization events is for students who attend the entire program.\nE-mail ada@law.stetson.edu should you need ADA accommodations for this program.

DESCRIPTION:Join Child Advocates of Stetson Law (CASL) for our first General Body Meeting (GBM) of the semester! This meeting will highlight the many ways law students can get involved in volunteer and pro bono opportunities throughout the Tampa Bay area. \nAt this meeting\, you’ll learn about: \n\n\nTrunk or Treat and other seasonal community service events\, \n\n\nToys for Tots holiday drives\, \n\n\nBecoming a Guardian ad Litem volunteer\, and \n\n\nAdditional opportunities to engage with local organizations that support children and families. \n\n\nGetting involved with CASL not only allows you to give back\, but also helps you begin logging pro bono hours and developing your skills as a future advocate. \nSnacks will be provided. DESCRIPTION:A Judicial Clerkship serves as the capstone experience to your legal education. Post-graduate judicial clerkships are generally one- or two-year positions\, although some are longer\, that involve working closely with the judiciary. Judicial Clerks are found in almost all judicial chambers\, and these positions range in their level of competitiveness.
