This 3-credit course will introduce students to the greater Everglades ecosystem and the seminal cases that shaped its landscape. Students will explore nearly every ecosystem in the region and discover the political\, policy\, economic\, and legal factors that influenced how it functions today. Students will meet with professionals in the fields of science\, advocacy\, law\, and policy to learn more about on-the-ground efforts to restore the Everglades. The course meets the upper-level writing requirement.
