The NACDL fellowship program will provide\u00a0$4,000 fellowships\u00a0to\u00a05 law students\u00a0who are interning with criminal defense practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students may utilize an existing summer placement or may select an employer from our nationwide list of criminal defense lawyers and agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applicants must currently be a 1L or 2L (or 3L evening) student from a historically underrepresented background, in good academic standing, and enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applicants must have an interest in a career in criminal defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Selected Fellows will be expected to intern, full-time, at a public defender office or with a criminal defense attorney in private practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
